A Life of Service and Community

Melissa Ann DeSerio has devoted her life to serving others through leadership, compassion, and community engagement. Her passion has always been helping people discover hope, overcome challenges, and create lasting positive change.

As Founder and President of Joy Today Ministries, Inc., Melissa has spent years serving individuals and families through outreach, mentoring, leadership development, and community support. Her work has taken her into recovery centers, universities, churches, nursing homes, conferences, and neighborhoods, where she has worked alongside people from every walk of life.

Melissa is also an executive transformation coach and certified leadership coach through the John Maxwell organization and Kingdom Builders Academy. She has equipped leaders across multiple sectors to develop character-driven leadership and effective communication.

Her commitment to service has earned national recognition, including the Presidential Top Global Leader Award and being named one of the Top 25 Most Inspiring Women on the Planet by Called 2 Inspire magazine.

Above all, Melissa is a devoted mother to her three sons, Hunter, Hayden, and Landen, and a proud grandmother to Joseph, James, and Aisley. Her family inspires her commitment to creating stronger communities and greater opportunities for future generations.

Melissa believes elected officials should lead with humility, transparency, and a servant's heart. She is committed to listening to the voices of District 80, working collaboratively to address community needs, and representing every resident with honesty and respect.
